About us
Chinese June is a digital learning platform for people who want to learn Chinese from their own language.
From a distance Chinese looks intimidating: thousands of characters, four tones, an unfamiliar writing system. Up close it is a remarkably orderly system — and one that can be broken into pieces small enough to fit into ten minutes a day.
Spaced repetition sits at the centre of the platform. We work out when you are about to forget a word and put it in front of you on exactly that day, so your study time goes to the words you are losing rather than the ones you already know.
The cards are written for an English-speaking ear: alongside the pinyin every word carries a plain-English respelling, and tones are shown both as a number and as a colour. The respelling sits next to pinyin as a help — it keeps you from reading q as “kw” while pinyin is still new to you.
What we offer
Flashcard decks
Decks organised by HSK level. The HSK 1 deck is entirely free, and the first cards of every paid deck can be studied before buying. Once you buy a deck, your access does not expire.
Stories
Short episodes written only with the words in the decks. You listen line by line and tap any word you get stuck on. Each level’s story comes with its deck; the first episodes are open to everyone.
Study materials
A printable study pack for the new HSK 1: workbook, character writing workbook, mock exams and flashcards, in English and Spanish editions.
Blog
Writing on the questions that come up while learning Chinese, culture notes and study methods. All free, no account needed.
What we care about
Try before you pay
There is a free deck, and free cards inside every paid deck. We would rather you saw what you are buying first.
Plain pricing
The price you see is the price you pay, in the currency shown on the page — the company is based in Türkiye. Buying a deck is a one-off payment; there is no subscription renewing quietly in the background.
Your card details never reach us
Payments go through iyzico’s 3D Secure infrastructure; your card number never touches our servers. The whole site runs over an SSL-encrypted connection.
